1. Magnesium

Magnesium is one of the important mineral needed by our body. This mineral assists the production of protein from amino acid.

Moreover, it helps to reduce the pain and mental illnesses.

Insufficient of magnesium can lead to low level of serotonin which eventually makes you depressed and tired. Although this does not sound very harmful, low levels of magnesium can affect other health problems such as high blood pressure, problems in digestion and improper hormone function in a long run.

Sources of magnesium

Wholegrain bread, spinach, nuts, meat, avocado and brown rice are the best sources of magnesium. Men, aged between 19 to 30 years old, should consume 400g of magnesium while older men should consume 420g of magnesium. Daily intake for women is lower than men. Women, aged between 19 to 30 years old, should consume 300g of magnesium and older women should consume 320g of magnesium.

2. Vitamin k

Vitamin K is important to keep you away from headache and migraine. It is responsible for synthesizing the proteins. This vitamin also hinder blood coagulation, bruising and helps stop the bleeding.

Consuming Vitamin K consistently will reduce serious health issues such as Alzheimer and prostate cancer;  artery and valve calcification.

The vitamin K, in conjunction with the vitamin D, also helps to distribute the calcium to the bones. Thus, low levels of this vitamin can lead to osteoporosis, fragile bones and fractures.

Sources of Vitamin K

Green vegetables such as kale, lettuce, spinach, beet greens etc and herbs such as coriander, basil and parsley are the source of vitamin K. Also brassica vegetables, hot spices, olive oil, dried fruit, okra and pickles are also highly recommended.
